Please excuse the hat!. Anyone who has been to the excellent interactive Field to Fork food and farming exhibition at Holkham Hall (near Wells – Next – the – Sea) will remember the bowler hats and tartan uniforms of the Coke Family Estates’ gamekeepers and will have, like me, been tempted to do a selfie whilst wearing copies of them.

North Norfolk is awash with many similar historic properties for all visitors.
I have been a frequent visitor to the area since my childhood years growing up in Peterborough and for me, this area of the county is extremely charismatic, beautiful huge skies, jaw dropping sunsets, varied wildlife and safe, world class beaches. The villages and small towns are absolutely full of character, history and traditionally built flint and pantille cottages and buildings.

As you can tell, my love affair with North Norfolk has been life-long. There is something about crossing the border from Cambridgeshire that raises your spirits as you take in the cleaner air, causing you to relax, slow down and to put your worries on hold. Once you have squeezed past the few that insist on sitting right at the entrance to the wonderful beaches, you can quite literally have the place to yourself. Fantastic!
I didn’t really set out to manage a handful of friends properties, but as I enjoy it so much, and love dealing with the guests who become friends over the years, what’s not to love!
