“We absolutely loved staying in Holly Cottage; quiet location, spacious rooms and well equipped. Perfect location for the North Norfolk coast. Beautiful garden.”
Excellent week spent at Little Gull Cottage, cottage very well equipped, very clean, lovely welcome pack, will be returning soon.
The accommodation was excellent. Each room was tastefully decorated – the kitchen and cooking facilities were very clean with everything needed for a large group provided. The children particularly liked the ice maker in the fridge.
There were indoor games for the children to play. The garden was not overlooked – there was a lovely wendy house for the children.
There was good garden furniture so we could all sit out and enjoy the sunshine.
We managed to get them away from the garden sometimes to visit the beach which was about a hundred yards down the road.
We liked taking the beach buggy with all the equipment provided for a great day on the beach. In the evening we took the kite out and also watched the kite and wind surfers.
We had a great day out at Sandringham with the play park and walking through the woods using the rope swings ending up with ice cream and a visit to the Mary Magdalene church frequented by the royals which was spectacular.
On the first night we all went to the Ancient Mariners for a meal out overlooking the sea at sunset while enjoying the excellent food. We also met some friends there for an adult evening on the last night.
The Marstons Honeycomb in Hunstanton (opposite Tescos) was also good for family food. We had a morning at the swimming pool in Hunstanton and the usual arcades and donuts went down well. So all in all there was plenty of things in the location for everyone to do – My sister walked along the beach to Heacham.
We normally go abroad on holiday but this was so easy being only 60 miles from home and with the good weather we could have been anywhere in the world.
There were many more things, which we did not get around to doing so we will have to book next year.
Hello Karan
A very comfortable ground floor cottage in a quiet setting with beautiful views over the Norfolk countryside.
Regards
We enjoyed our holiday at Burdyke and although the weather was not kind the accommodation was first class spacious, warm, and very clean Home from Home our golden retriever Holly just loved the garden.
Sandpiper has been a “must” on our holiday calendar for more than 15 years – and rightly so. The cosy cottage with its sumptuous beds, welcome basket of goodies (courtesy of Vic and Karan) and pleasant setting makes for a relaxing environment. Situated on the outskirts of the attractive little village of Thornham, it is ideal for touring the sights of North Norfolk. Or, for those with an interest in wildlife, it makes a perfect stepping stone to the nearby reserves of Titchwell, Holme, Cley and the famous Holkham and Wells woods where rare birds frequently pause in their migrational travels. One holiday at Sandpiper and you will want to migrate back there again yourself!
We have visited Sandpiper on several occasions now and will keep coming back. It is a lovely cosy cottage with all the necessary comforts you need for a truly relaxing holiday. Tess, the spaniel, really loves it and the walks close by. It is situated in a nice quiet village with pubs and eating houses within walking distance. Thanks to Karan and Vic for letting out this lovely cottage.
We really love this cottage and its surroundings; we have holidayed here for the last three years and have already booked for next year. We love walking, birds, the Norfolk coast, and we can enjoy all these here in abundance. The cottage is very comfortable, and there is nothing better than sitting in the garden and watching the Oyster Catchers on the large expanse of lawn at the back of the cottages. It’s great to use the convenience of the nearby Deli for coffees, breakfasts etc., and to make use of the several excellent eating-houses in walking distance. In short we cannot wait to be back.
Super cottage, has everything you need for a good holiday, very comfortable, and well situated to explore the Norfolk Coast.
You can easily to walk to the local Deli to pick up provisions and have a light meal.
In fact, we enjoyed our holiday so much at Sandpiper, on arriving home; we immediately booked for next year!
We have had many holidays in sandpiper and we have loved everyone, we never want to leave!! It’s very comfortable, cosy, the welcome pack is second to none, great to come back to after day out, central for good pubs, beach walking and bird watching at Titchwell.
Thank you Sandpiper!!, see you next year
SUPERB SERVICE, COTTAGE IS IN A GREAT POSITION FOR ALL THE VILLAGE AMENITIES AND BEYOND.
VERY COMFORTABLE, HOMELY AND WARM!
Kind Regards,
We first went to Sandpiper Cottage six years ago on the recommendation of a bird watching friend.
We love it so much, we keep on going back.
In a way, it has become home from home because it is so superbly located for some of the best birding sites, beaches, old harbours and everything else that’s so stunning about the North Norfolk coast.
After an active day in the outdoors, you really couldn’t find a cosier, more welcoming cottage to come back to.
As they say down Norfolk way ……. PERFICK.

Sorry it’s taken so long to write back about our stay at Burdyke over Easter. We had an excellent stay. The house had everything we needed, was very well equipped and the welcome pack was lovely.
The location couldn’t have been better, the beach being so close was fantastic for our dog and the children, we made it there everyday even if we were wearing woolly hats and waterproofs. The Ancient Mariners pub was just as close and was visited on a few occasions and a nice meal was had one evening. We preferred this to The Lodge due to the real ale on offer but The Lodge was pleasant on a sunny afternoon.
Your house was great, the garden lovely which the children made use of.
We will be recommending your house and may even visit again ourselves someday. Thank you again.

We had a fabulous holiday in burdyke from 7th – 14th November. Warm comfy and extremely well equipped. Excellently placed for everything you need – pubs, bus and walking in general. the weather was very kind to us – we had some fantastic walks along the coast path. we even managed a cup of tea sitting on the balcony – not at all bad in November!!! Will be in touch about next year very soon. We really did have a fab time, thank you. Jane.
We were a party of 9 – The accommodation was excellent and enabled the group to maintain privacy but to enjoy the shared experience. Each room was tastefully decorated – the kitchen and cooking facilities were very clean with everything needed for a large group provided. The children particularly liked the ice maker in the fridge.
